About Rainier Chapter House, DAR

Rainier Chapter House is a historic building that opened in 1925, as part of the historical Harvard-Belmont Landmark District of Capitol Hill. Today, it is a popular venue for weddings, receptions, birthdays, meetings, banquets and more.

In vendor's own words:

A beautiful architectural replica of the George Washington, Mt Vernon Home was designed by architect Daniel Riggs Huntington. This vision by the DAR, Daughters of the American Revolution, Rainier Chapter Women was built to embody our history, devotion to independence, and representation of freedom.
Located at the North end of Seattle’s Historic Capitol Hill, the Rainier Chapter House continues the commitment to community today by sharing the home for various events. A non Profit Service organization, funds received for events ranging from weddings to corporate meetings, memorial services to auctions, baptisms to retirement parties, are used to historically preserve the home, to help subsidize nonprofit events, fund educational endeavors and send supplies to soldiers and veterans.

We looked at a LOT of wedding venues when we got engaged, and I have to say Rainier Chapter House is one of the best in Seattle. Very nice and very affordable!

Yep, several of our friends got married in Rainier Chapter House of DAR (I think it's Daughters of the American Revolution) over the past few years. It has a pretty cool entertainment area upstairs, a neat ceremony area downstars and a nice lobby and an outdoor area for the breaks. Complete wedding in one spot. Not 100% sure, but I think they might even have a complete kitchen right inside for your catering vendor to use as a staging area.

If I am not mistaken, they are a public / registered non-profit - as such, their rates are noticeably better than in other places. And the people are really nice. We loved the place, but they were unfortunately sold out for the season, so we did not manage to get them in the end... Anon - Dec 08 '11 at 12:29 AM
